Chris Paul and Blake Griffin played their hearts out to avoid elimination but fell short at the end. The San Antonio Spurs were simply too dominant, and prevailed 102-99, to sweep the Western Conference semifinals.
Tim Duncan had 21 points and Tony Parker had 17 for the Spurs as they executed good offense and defense when it counted, particularly at the end when they frustrated the Clippers’s last two possessions.
The Spurs now await the outcome of the Thunder-Lakers series, with Oklahoma City leading 3 games to 1.
