May 18, 2012 – Los Angeles, CA
Kobe Bryant’s 36 points helped the Los Angeles Lakers to a 99-96 thriller over the Oklahoma City Thunder in Game 3 of the Western Semifinals. Down two games to none, the Lakers shook off their Game 2 collapse and kept control of the game’s pace, which allowed them to keep the scoring down, especially in the 4th quarter.
The Thunder led 92-87 with 2:55 to play, but the Lakers chipped away with consistent free throws and effective defense, with a 6-2 run in the final 33 seconds. Bryant set a franchise record with 18 free throws without a miss. The Lakers were an outstanding 41 for 42 on the free throw line.
