June 3, 2012 – Boston, MA
The Boston Celtics have battled back from the edge, just like their counterparts in the Western Conference series, the Oklahoma City Thunder, did to tie the Conference series at two games apiece with an overtime victory over the Miami Heat, 93-91.
Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 23 points, Kevin Garnett added 17 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks, Ray Allen put 16 and Rajon Rondo added 15 points and 15 assists. Rondo’s three-pointer in overtime was the winning basket.
Lebron James led the Miami Heat with 29 points, while Dwyane Wade struggled with 20 points. Mario Chalmers and Udonis Haslem both put in 12 points. James fouled out in overtime, hurting Miami’s offense badly and Wade’s three-point attempt at the buzzer bounced out of the basket, sending the Celtics to victory.
The Celtics led for the first half before the Heat caught up and tied it early in the fourth quarter. In the five-minute overtime, the Boston defense kept Miami’s offense to just two points.
