Celtics Turn Up the Heat, Go Down in Defeat

May 30, 2012 – Miami, FL

The Boston Celtics played their collective heart out against the Miami Heat in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals. Rajon Rondo had 44 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds while Boston shot 50% and led by 16 points at the half. And they still lost 115-111 in overtime, down two games to none in this best-of-seven series.

Miami Heat’s Lebron James scored 34 points, 10 rebounds while Dwyane Wade added 23, as they climbed out of the hole into which they had dug themselves during the first half. Wade scored only two points during that time.

Boston’s Paul Pierce scored 21 points, Kevin Garnett had 18 and Ray Allen put in 13, his 3-pointer with 34.3 seconds left in regulation time tying the score at 99 and forcing overtime.

Mario Chalmers helped Miami with 22 points, as did Udonis Haslem with 13.

Play now goes to Boston for Games 3 and 4.
