The Boston Celtics shook off the effects of losing Game 4 after leading by 18 points and punished the Philadelphia 76ers 101-85 to go up 3 games to 2 in the Eastern Conference Semifinal.
Power forward Brandon Bass poured in 18 points in the third quarter alone, scoring a total of 27 for the Celtics. Kevin Garnett helped in the win with 20 points and six rebounds while Elton Brand had a team-high 19 points for the 76ers.
Philadelphia was beset by turnovers, losing the ball five times in six possessions in the middle of the third quarter. Boston would go on a 10-0 run, leading by as many as 20 points at times.
Game 6 in this best of seven series is in Philadelphia, where Boston has a chance to clinch the series.
